Start With the Location, Not the Decorations
Before choosing flowers or candles, we consider what already exists.
A historic villa on Lake Como requires a different approach from a seaside terrace in Positano, a private room in Rome or a lakeside setting in Sirmione.
If the view is already extraordinary, the decorations should usually frame it rather than block it.
In a simpler space, floral design and lighting may need to play a stronger visual role.
This is why we do not begin with a standard decoration package and apply it to every venue.

Rose petals can be used to create a path, frame the proposal area or add softness around candles and flowers.
But they need to be appropriate for the location.
On an exposed terrace or near the sea, wind can make loose petals difficult to control.
Outdoors, every decorative element needs to be considered not only aesthetically but practically.

Choose One Colour Direction
Proposal decorations usually look more sophisticated when the colour palette is clearly defined.
Instead of mixing many colours and decorative styles, we normally establish one visual direction and allow variations in texture and height to create interest.
For example, an all-white design can include different flowers, candles and fabrics without losing visual coherence.
The decoration should also work with what the couple is likely to wear and with the colours already present in the venue.
Villa and Lakefront Proposal Decorations
Historic villas require restraint.
The architecture already provides columns, gardens, terraces and framed views, so the design should normally complement those elements.

The design needs to work in reality, not only in an inspiration photograph.
